In a survey of over 1,300 chefs, the National Restaurant Association identified locally sourced meats and seafood, local produce, and environmental sustainability as the top three trends of 2014. Gluten-free foods were ranked number five. A host of mobile apps are emerging in response to that trend, helping eco-conscious eaters and food allergy sufferers make informed choices when they eat out. Here are a few we found interesting.
