Wendy’s story starts with its creator, Dave Thomas, a retired soldier turned chef. He used his savings to start a burger restaurant, which he named after his 8-year-old daughter, Wenda. Until his death in 2002, Dave Thomas was recognized for his pledge to provide his customers with the highest-quality food possible.
